Great news for travelers and businesses in Karnataka! Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has officially announced the launch of a brand-new daily superfast train service, linking Hubballi and Bengaluru. This highly anticipated service is scheduled to commence its regular operations from December 8th, marking a significant improvement in regional connectivity.
An official statement hailed this new addition, numbered 20687 and 20688, as a special ‘Deepavali gift’ from the Union government to the people of Karnataka. It’s more than just a new route; it’s a vital link designed to strengthen ties between the State capital and North Karnataka, directly benefiting residents and economies across seven to eight districts.
The superfast train will make strategic stops at key locations including Karjagi, Haveri, Ranebennur, Davangere, Birur, Arasikere, Tumakuru, Yeswantpur, and Sampige Road before arriving at the bustling KSR Bengaluru station. These carefully chosen stoppages aim to maximize accessibility and impact for a wide region.
Minister Joshi’s persistent advocacy played a crucial role in securing this new service. During a recent meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna, he passionately highlighted the immense demand for additional train services through Hubballi, emphasizing the positive ripple effect such connections would have.
Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ministers Ashwini Vaishnav and V. Somanna, Mr. Joshi underscored that this new superfast train is poised to be a catalyst for economic growth, significantly fostering various trade and industries across North Karnataka.
