A significant leadership change has taken place at AP-Genco, with IAS officer S. Nagalakshmi officially assuming her role as Managing Director at Vidyut Soudha in Vijayawada. In her inaugural address, Ms. Nagalakshmi clearly outlined her primary objective: to spearhead the comprehensive renovation and modernization of Andhra Pradesh’s thermal power plants. This ambitious initiative aims to significantly reduce emissions and ensure strict adherence to all environmental pollution control regulations.
Addressing the workforce, she urged all employees to unite in a concerted effort to boost the state’s thermal, hydel, and solar power generation capabilities. Ms. Nagalakshmi emphasized that AP-Genco’s operations must seamlessly align with the government’s overarching vision: to deliver uninterrupted, high-quality, and dependable power supply around the clock through optimized generation strategies.
Expressing deep gratitude, Ms. Nagalakshmi thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, and Chief Secretary & Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K. Vijayanand. She acknowledged their trust and the significant responsibility bestowed upon her to steer AP-Genco towards a progressive future.
Following her address, Ms. Nagalakshmi engaged in discussions with key AP-Genco Directors, including M. Sujaya Kumar, P. Ashok Kumar Reddy, and V. Usha. Srinivasa Rao, Director of AP Power Development Company Limited, was also present during these interactions.
