For many years, folks in Nellore city struggled with severe waterlogging at the Ramalingapuram railway under-bridge. When it rained, traffic would grind to a halt, and pedestrians found themselves trudging through water up to their knees.
This persistent problem has finally been tackled head-on. A new cement concrete road, a proper culvert, and a dedicated footpath were built in just 50 days, costing ₹1.17 crore. This bridge, vital for connecting the city to its outskirts, had been in dire need of these upgrades for a long time.
Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy spearheaded this project, ensuring its swift and efficient completion. The newly renovated under-bridge was officially opened by Puttamreddy Saharsha Reddy, a 15-year-old grandson of a local Jana Sena Party leader.
MLA Sridhar Reddy explained that this inauguration by a young person was a symbolic way to acknowledge the NDA partners and inspire the younger generation to get involved in community development, social initiatives, and politics.
He shared that the repair work began after a local resident called in a complaint. He also emphasized that this significant improvement wouldn’t have been possible without the valuable support of Minister for Municipal Administration P. Narayana and Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy.
Several prominent figures, including former Mayor Nandimandalam Bhanusri, TDP leader Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, and local corporator Maramreddy Jyotipriya, also attended the inauguration event.
