Union Minister of State for Fisheries, George Kurian, shared exciting news on Saturday, October 18, confirming that the construction of the much-anticipated Nedumbassery airport railway station is poised to begin soon. He received this assurance directly from Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, signaling a significant step forward for the project.
Mr. Kurian recounted accompanying Minister Vaishnaw during a site visit last year, where the Railway Minister personally pinpointed the optimal location for the new station during a detailed inspection.
Adding to the positive announcements, Mr. Kurian also revealed that Minister Vaishnaw has committed to allocating additional coaches for MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Unit) trains starting this November. This enhancement aims to provide much-needed relief and improved travel experiences for daily commuters.
