A senior fire official in Nalgonda has been dramatically arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) after he was caught accepting a bribe to fast-track fire safety approvals. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, October 16, 2025, involved a Station Fire Officer who allegedly demanded money to issue essential clearances for a local firecracker shop.
The officer, identified as A. Satyanarayana Reddy, was reportedly seeking an ₹8,000 bribe to process a temporary license and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) – crucial documents for operating a firecracker business. ACB officials successfully laid a trap and apprehended Reddy as he took the illicit payment. The bribe money was subsequently recovered from a hidden compartment on his motorbike.
Following his arrest, A. Satyanarayana Reddy was brought before the First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases court in Nampally, Hyderabad, where further investigations are actively underway.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau is reminding the public of its commitment to fighting graft and has encouraged citizens to play an active role. Anyone witnessing or experiencing demands for bribes from public servants is urged to contact their toll-free hotline at 1064 or send a message via WhatsApp to 9440446106. The ACB also welcomes complaints through its social media channels on Facebook (Telangana ACB) and X (@TelanganaACB), reassuring all informants that their identities will be kept strictly confidential.
