Nainar Nagenthran, the President of BJP Tamil Nadu, voiced strong criticism on Friday, September 26, 2025, asserting that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government is excessively preoccupied with advertisements and self-promotion, signaling an imminent decline in its power.
In a detailed statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Nagenthran highlighted numerous irregularities within the government’s crucial noon meal scheme, which operates in state-run schools. He specifically pointed out concerns regarding the quality of the food provided. He argued that instead of tackling these serious problems, the DMK administration appears solely focused on public relations. Nagenthran challenged the DMK leadership, asking, “Will those DMK leaders who laud the noon meal scheme enroll their own children in government schools? Will they personally dine at these government schools? The DMK’s dramatic displays have gone too far.”
He further suggested that as elections draw near, the DMK is mistakenly convinced that a barrage of advertisements and celebrity endorsements at lavish, taxpayer-funded events will distract the public from its governance shortcomings. He claimed, “The DMK is attempting to push Tamil Nadu towards destruction by portraying a deceptive ‘Dravidian model’ of governance. These calculated schemes, he insisted, are destined for failure in the forthcoming Assembly elections.”
