- Mallick commenced her diplomatic journey in Paris, serving with distinction at the Embassy of India to the French Republic and the Indian Mission to UNESCO.
- Her tenure in New Delhi included significant roles within the Government of India, such as Desk Officer in the Ministry of External Affairs’ West Europe Division, serving on the personal staff of Prime Minister I.K. Gujral, and being the first woman Deputy Chief of Protocol (Ceremonial).
- Her international assignments have been equally impressive, with previous roles as First Secretary in India’s mission in Nepal and Counsellor in Sri Lanka.
- She held the position of Deputy Chief of Mission in Thailand from 2010 to 2012, served as Ambassador to Tunisia from 2012 to 2015, and was the High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam from 2015 to 2018.
