An overwhelming 24,000 individuals have already registered to participate in the upcoming Mysuru Divisional Mega Job Fair. This significant event is scheduled to take place at Maharaja’s College Grounds on October 17.
During a press conference held on Tuesday, Karnataka’s Minister for Medical Education and Skill Development, Entrepreneurship, and Livelihood, Sharan Prakash Patil, announced that 221 companies have confirmed their attendance. These participating firms collectively offer an impressive 45,000 job vacancies spanning various sectors.
Minister Patil urged all job seekers to take full advantage of this unique opportunity. He also clarified that candidates who haven’t yet registered online can still do so directly at the venue on the day of the fair. For those who prefer advance registration, the state’s employment website is available.
The Minister further outlined plans to support unplaced candidates by collecting their details and offering them targeted skill development training. This initiative aims to enhance their employability and help them secure future job opportunities.
Addressing a common misunderstanding regarding the Yuvanidhi Plus scheme, Dr. Patil explained that beneficiaries receiving the Yuvanidhi unemployment allowance are also eligible for skill training. He reassured the public that participating in skill development programs does not disqualify individuals from receiving the Yuvanidhi benefit, which continues for two years or until employment is found, whichever comes first.
Highlighting the state’s broader employment efforts, Dr. Patil noted that six previous job fairs at the taluk and district levels successfully placed 12,966 candidates. Additionally, three campus job fairs organized in partnership with colleges resulted in 1,177 placements.
“Opportunities abound for candidates with both foundational and advanced educational qualifications,” the Minister emphasized, reiterating his call for all registered Yuvanidhi beneficiaries to attend the upcoming fair.
Across Karnataka, over 3 lakh young people have registered under the Yuvanidhi scheme, with 43,500 of them hailing from the Mysuru division. Dr. Patil stressed that job fairs are invaluable not only for directly connecting job seekers with employers but also for helping candidates understand the evolving skill demands of various industries.
Key officials present at the press conference included Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) Chairperson Kanta Nayak, Department Secretary Manoj Kumar Meena, Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikant Reddy, and KSDC Managing Director M.N. Nagaraj.
