Mysuru recently joined the global celebration of World Pharmacists Day, a special occasion dedicated to acknowledging the profound impact pharmacists have on public health.
This year’s theme, ‘Think Health, Think Pharmacist,’ beautifully encapsulated the essential role these healthcare professionals play in cultivating thriving, healthy communities.
The day’s events were collaboratively organized by the Sarada Vilas College of Pharmacy (SVCP) and the Mysuru chapter of the Alzheimer’s Related Disorders Society of India, fostering a spirit of community engagement and health advocacy.
A highlight of the celebrations was a poignant ‘Memory Walk,’ designed to encourage public contemplation and empathy. Organizers shared that the walk served as a powerful reminder to ‘remember those who cannot remember,’ with its compelling theme: ‘Ask about Dementia, Ask about Alzheimer’s’.
More than just a symbolic gesture, this walk was a deliberate effort to cultivate deeper understanding and compassion for individuals living with dementia, and to significantly raise public awareness about both dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Prominent figures present at the event included R. Dinesh, Secretary of Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions, and Hanumanthachar Joshi, Principal of SVCP, alongside many other dedicated participants.
