The city of Mysuru is abuzz with activity, eagerly preparing for the magnificent Dasara grand finale on Thursday. Visitors from every corner of the country are descending upon the city, all eager to witness these truly spectacular celebrations. Behind the scenes, preparations for the iconic Vijayadashami procession, known as Jamboo Savari, are in full swing, with the construction of breathtaking tableaux progressing at an impressive pace.
These remarkable tableaux, meticulously crafted to represent Karnataka’s diverse districts, various government boards, corporations, and other institutions, will take center stage in the procession. Each display is designed to beautifully showcase the State’s rich culture, cherished traditions, impactful government schemes and programmes, fascinating history, vibrant tourism, and numerous other integral aspects of Karnataka life.
Indeed, these elaborate tableaux, alongside the accompanying energetic cultural troupes, stand out as a primary highlight of the Dasara procession, drawing an immense and captivated crowd year after year.
Just recently, on Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner and Dasara Special Officer G. Lakshmikanth Reddy officially unveiled the posters of these captivating tableaux during a special event orchestrated by the dedicated Dasara Tableaux Sub-Committee.
While the precise number of tableaux is still pending an official announcement from the committee, officials are diligently overseeing every stage to ensure the highest quality and artistic integrity of these featured displays. Prior communications had already been sent to Zilla Panchayats across all districts, outlining the stringent standards to be maintained for the tableaux, and artisans are working tirelessly to meet and even exceed these expectations.
