A chilling discovery was made on Monday morning in the tranquil tea estates of Aravenu, Kotagiri, in the Nilgiris. A 35-year-old migrant worker, originally from Chhattisgarh, was found dead under deeply suspicious circumstances.
Police reports indicate that the woman, who had been working at a local tea estate and factory for several months and resided with her husband and children, was reported missing on Saturday. Her family and fellow workers immediately initiated a search, which tragically concluded with the discovery of her body in a nearby tea field. She sustained head injuries.
Authorities, including both the local police and the Forest Department, were promptly notified. The Forest Department conducted an initial detailed inquiry at the scene to determine if a wild animal attack could have caused the death. However, after careful examination, the woman’s body displayed no signs consistent with such an attack. Consequently, the case was handed over to the police, and her remains were sent for a comprehensive post-mortem examination to ascertain the precise cause of death.
The police have since registered a case of suspicious death and are actively pursuing further investigations into this disturbing incident, seeking to uncover the truth behind the migrant worker’s untimely demise.
