On November 1, 2025, a significant protest march, dubbed ‘Satyacha Morcha’ (March for Truth), took place in Mumbai. Organized by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) – an alliance of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP) – alongside the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), the demonstration aimed to highlight widespread allegations of voter list irregularities. The opposition parties contend that these discrepancies unfairly benefit the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The ‘Satyacha Morcha’ commenced in the afternoon from Fashion Street in South Mumbai, progressing towards the BMC headquarters. Prominent political figures participated, including former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, MNS leader Raj Thackeray, and Congress stalwart Balasaheb Thorat.
Following the march, a rally was held where leaders addressed the public, focusing on critical issues within the voters’ list such as duplicate entries, improper deletions, and unauthorized additions. The opposition strongly criticized the Election Commission of India (ECI), alleging that it has ignored these serious flaws. They emphatically stated that local body elections in Maharashtra should only proceed once these significant voter list issues are fully resolved and rectified.
The march saw thousands of party functionaries join, with notable attendance from Congress leaders Naseem Khan, Satej Patil, and Bhai Jagtap, as well as NCP (SP) Member of Parliament Supriya Sule.
Earlier in the day, Raj Thackeray, accompanied by his supporters and party colleague Bala Nandgaonkar, traveled by train from Dadar station to Churchgate. This aligns with his earlier public appeal for MNS workers to utilize public transport for reaching the protest venue.
