Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS), a esteemed Deemed to be University in Annamayya district, recently hosted a highly insightful guest lecture. Held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and organized by its Department of Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) in partnership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the event delved into “Digital Technologies and Cyber Security Issues in Connecting Indian Technology Hubs.”
The session featured Dr. R. Siva Shankar, a distinguished Professor of Computer Science from the International College of Digital Innovation at Chiang Mai University, Thailand, as the chief guest. Dr. Siva Shankar delivered a compelling address, highlighting India’s rapid ascent as a prominent global technology hub. He emphasized the critical and ever-growing significance of robust cybersecurity measures in our increasingly interconnected digital age.
During his lecture, Dr. Siva Shankar issued a stark warning about prevalent digital threats, including insidious data breaches, deceptive phishing attempts, and destructive ransomware attacks. He passionately advocated for the development of stronger, more resilient cybersecurity frameworks and stressed the vital need for heightened awareness and education among the next generation of engineers.
The interactive session encouraged lively discussions and questions from the audience, providing students with invaluable insights into the latest trends, emerging challenges, and future directions within the dynamic field of digital security.
