In a swift and strong response, Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath publicly condemned the recent disrespectful act of desecration targeting the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. This unfortunate incident, attributed to activists from the YSRCP, took place in the Chittoor district.
Joining scores of party leaders and dedicated members, Minister Bharath participated in a symbolic ‘palabhisekham’ ceremony at the Ambedkar statue located at the Old Bus Stand in Kurnool on Thursday. This act served as a powerful protest against the vandalism that occurred in Vedurukuppam village, Putalapattu mandal. Minister Bharath voiced his deep regret, emphasizing that the damage to Dr. Ambedkar’s statue by YSRCP leaders appeared to be a deliberate attempt to destabilize peace and order within the state.
He vehemently called for severe penalties against those responsible, stating, “Only stringent punishment will ensure that such deplorable acts are never repeated.” Minister Bharath also remarked on the YSRCP’s apparent refusal to learn from the public’s recent electoral decision, which significantly reduced their presence in the assembly. He warned that the public remains vigilant, closely observing the party’s ongoing conduct.
