Minister for MSME, Kondapalli Srinivas, announced that Andhra Pradesh is quickly establishing itself as a prime center for manufacturing, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and exports. He highlighted the state’s robust infrastructure, specialized sectoral parks, and innovation centers, noting that Andhra Pradesh already contributes significantly, nearly 8%, to India’s total exports.
His remarks were delivered during his keynote address at the prestigious American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)’s International Mechanical Engineering Congress & Exposition (IMECE) – 2025, which was held in Hyderabad.
During the event, Mr. Srinivas further elaborated that the state is actively fostering an environment brimming with opportunities for both established industries and burgeoning startups. This is being achieved through the implementation of forward-thinking policies, the strategic development of investment-ready industrial zones, and a strong commitment to sustainability initiatives.
A press release issued after the event emphasized that the IMECE India conference perfectly complemented Andhra Pradesh’s ambitious vision. It served as a vital platform for fostering global collaborations, advancing cutting-edge engineering research, and strengthening crucial partnerships between academia and industry—all aimed at transforming India into a leading innovation-driven economy.
Adding weight to these discussions, T. Sivasankara Rao, Chairman of the AP MSME Development Corporation, and Pawan Kumar Chandana, co-founder of Skyroot Aerospace, both underscored India’s pivotal and expanding influence in the worldwide engineering and innovation landscape.
The congress also featured insightful discussions from ASME India president and director Madhukar Sharma, alongside numerous other distinguished domain experts. They covered a wide array of cutting-edge subjects, including additive manufacturing and 3D printing, advanced materials and manufacturing technologies, breakthroughs in thermal technologies, gas turbines, offshore pipelines transmission and distribution systems, cyber-physical systems integrated with AI/ML, and structural dynamics and materials.
