Andhra Pradesh’s Education and IT Minister, Nara Lokesh, has voiced profound shock and outrage over a recent attempted sexual assault involving a young girl student at the Tuni Rural Gurukulam School in Kakinada district. The alleged perpetrator has been identified as Tatika Narayana Rao.
Reports indicate that the accused attempted to assault the student. Following immediate reports, law enforcement authorities acted swiftly, registering a case under the stringent POCSO Act and subsequently arresting the individual.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Minister Lokesh firmly declared that the government would tackle such heinous crimes with an “iron hand,” vowing severe and uncompromising punishment for all those involved.
He further assured the public that the victim is receiving comprehensive counseling and all essential support to aid her recovery from this traumatic experience. Additionally, the Minister confirmed that directives have been issued to officials statewide to significantly enhance security protocols for girl students residing in Gurukulam institutions and other welfare hostels, aiming to prevent any similar incidents in the future.
