In a significant operation against drug trafficking, officials from the Telangana Excise and Prohibition department have successfully apprehended two men from Odisha in Secunderabad. The suspects were caught in the act of transporting over 16 kilograms of ganja, intended for illicit trade with buyers in Mumbai.
The State Task Force (STF) C team executed a swift interception near Alpha Hotel, seizing three bags containing the illegal substance. The confiscated ganja carries an estimated street value of around ₹8 lakh.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Murali Nayak and Kala Charan. According to police reports, Nayak and Charan procured the ganja from a supplier in Odisha and traveled to Hyderabad using the Konark Express. They were reportedly waiting near the hotel to hand over the large consignment to local drug traders when excise officials moved in and took them into custody.
Both the seized ganja and the arrested individuals have since been transferred to the Secunderabad excise station, where further investigation into the drug network is currently underway.
