Authorities in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district are actively combating illegal cannabis cultivation, with recent efforts leading to a significant seizure. On Sunday, Jainoor police successfully confiscated 60 ganja plants from a residence in Shekuguda village.
The raid followed a confidential tip-off, leading officers to the home of Mesram Somu, where the illicit plants were discovered flourishing in his backyard. The estimated street value of the seized cannabis plants is approximately ₹6 lakh.
A formal case has been filed, and a thorough investigation is currently underway to uncover more details about the operation. This seizure comes just after another successful operation on Saturday, where Jainoor police discovered and seized 10 ganja plants from an agricultural field in Daboli village, also within the same mandal, underscoring the sustained efforts against drug cultivation in the area.
