PG Electroplast Limited, a prominent electronics manufacturing services company, has strategically chosen Sri City in the Tirupati district as the location for its inaugural manufacturing facility in South India. The company has acquired 50 acres of land for this venture, planning a substantial investment of approximately ₹1,000 crore over the next five years. This ambitious project will initially focus on establishing a state-of-the-art refrigerator manufacturing plant, boasting an impressive annual production capacity of 1.20 million units.
Commercial production at the new refrigerator plant is slated to commence by December 2026. Looking ahead, PG Electroplast intends to broaden its product portfolio at the facility, with future plans to diversify into the manufacturing of air conditioners, washing machines, and a variety of other home appliances and electronic goods.
This significant project is projected to generate more than 500 direct employment opportunities in its initial phase, while also fostering extensive growth in supporting sectors such as component supply, logistics, and various allied services within Sri City. The Minister for IT and HRD, Nara Lokesh, extended a warm welcome to the investment on Saturday, expressing gratitude to PG Electroplast for their confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s industrial potential.
PG Electroplast’s strategic decision highlights the remarkable efficiency of Andhra Pradesh’s governance, characterized by streamlined single-window clearances, attractive policy incentives, and robust industrial infrastructure. These factors collectively contribute to minimizing the time, cost, and operational complexities for manufacturers aiming to expand their footprint across India.
