The newest Madden 26 patch significantly boosts the capabilities of top-tier kickers. Now, players with a maximum 99 Kick Power Attribute can attempt and successfully land field goals from an astonishing 70 yards out!
According to a statement from the developers, this change is all about enhancing authenticity. They noted that the “historic 70-yard field goal was an extraordinary achievement that pushed the boundaries of what’s possible on the field.” Now, players can experience the thrill of replicating this iconic moment within the game itself.

This groundbreaking in-game adjustment is inspired by real-world heroics. Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Cam Little achieved this incredible 70-yard record during the 2025 NFL preseason, facing off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in an August game. What makes this even more remarkable is that it happened in the very first preseason game for both teams, and it comfortably eclipsed the previous NFL regular-season record of 66 yards.
Little himself admitted there was “probably a little bit of doubt” before the kick. However, he also revealed that he had practiced many long field goals in training camp, including some over 60 or even 65 yards. He stated his desire was simply “to go out there and see what it would do.”
As a testament to the feat, the jersey and shoe worn by Cam Little during his legendary kick are now enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It’s important to note, however, that because the kick occurred during the preseason, it doesn’t officially count towards NFL record books.
