In a remarkable effort to bolster public health and emergency preparedness, nearly 5,000 individuals across the district have successfully completed training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This significant milestone was achieved through the ‘Hridayapoorvam’ project, a commendable initiative by the State government specifically designed to empower citizens with life-saving skills and ultimately reduce the incidence of cardiac-related fatalities.
The success of the ‘Hridayapoorvam’ campaign is a testament to the collaborative spirit within the community. Training sessions were meticulously organized and delivered with invaluable support from various key organizations. These included dedicated members of the district’s Rapid Action Force, highly skilled health workers, the esteemed Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA), and the Indian Medical Association (IMA). Furthermore, local medical colleges and numerous private hospitals played a crucial role, lending their expertise and resources to ensure comprehensive and effective training for all participants.
This widespread training not only equips individuals with the ability to respond effectively during a cardiac emergency but also fosters a more resilient and prepared community, ready to act when every second counts.
