In a powerful display of collective resolve, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) recently organized a massive rally in Kurnool, aimed at raising awareness about the devastating effects of drug abuse. This event was a key part of the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ celebrations, commemorating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. Thousands of enthusiastic students enthusiastically joined the ‘Namo Yuva Run 75’, carrying a clear message: let’s build a ‘Nasha Mukth Bharat’ – a truly drug-free India. The spirited procession, which commenced from the Raj Vihar Centre and culminated at the Collectorate, saw prominent figures like former Rajya Sabha MP T.G. Venkatesh, BJP State spokesperson Vinusha Reddy, and BJYM State president Sunil Reddy leading the charge alongside dedicated party members and students. Their banners proudly proclaimed the vision of a drug-free society and nation. Addressing the eager young participants, Mr. Venkatesh underscored Prime Minister Modi’s firm declaration of a ‘war against drugs’ across the country, emphasizing that every citizen has a crucial role to play in this battle. He expressed deep concern over the rising trend of drug addiction among young people, especially given ongoing government efforts to reduce the consumption of harmful substances like cigarettes and alcohol. Venkatesh proposed a bold measure: making it mandatory for all election candidates and government job applicants to declare a commitment to abstain from alcohol, cigarettes, and drugs. Sharing a personal example, he highlighted his own initiative of providing a ₹1,500 monthly non-alcohol and non-smoking allowance to 3,000 employees in his businesses, totaling ₹45 lakh. He also proudly mentioned his hotel, Mourya Inn, operates as an alcohol-free establishment. Echoing this sentiment, BJP State spokesperson Vinusha Reddy passionately called upon the youth to channel their energies into nation-building rather than succumbing to drug addiction. She stressed the importance of a ‘Fit India’ requiring ‘Fit Indians,’ advocating for healthy lifestyles, nutritious eating, and regular exercise – principles consistently promoted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. Reddy further explained that the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ initiative, which runs for 15 days from September 17 to October 2, was specifically designed to honor Prime Minister Modi’s 75th birthday, with the ‘Namo Yuva Run 75’ serving as a significant component of these celebrations.
