In a beautiful display of tradition and devotion, Kurnool District Collector A. Siri graciously offered exquisite silk garments to the revered Sri Jogulamba Sameta Bala Brahmeswara Swamy temple. This significant presentation took place on Tuesday at Alampur, located in the Jogulamba Gadwal district of neighboring Telangana State, marking the auspicious occasion of the Dasara festivities.
Upon her arrival, Dr. Siri was warmly welcomed with a traditional ‘purnakumbha’ by the temple priests, symbolizing auspiciousness and respect. She then proceeded to have a sacred darshan of the presiding deities, Goddess Jogulamba and Lord Bala Brahmeswara Swamy, before reverently presenting the silk clothes. Following the offering, the priests performed ‘Vedasrvichanam’ – chanting sacred Vedic hymns – and bestowed ‘tirtha prasadams’ upon the Collector, completing the spiritual ceremony.
Reflecting on the event, Dr. Siri highlighted the historical significance of the gesture, stating that presenting silk clothes to the temple during the annual Dasara Brahmotsavams is a time-honored custom, deeply embedded in the cultural fabric of the region.
