Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has reported an outstanding annual profit of ₹489.84 crore for the 2024–25 fiscal year, marking a significant milestone in its financial performance.
This remarkable financial achievement was driven by a total revenue of ₹1,142 crore. During its annual general meeting held online on Saturday, September 27, 2025, CIAL’s board of directors enthusiastically approved the distribution of 50% of this profit as dividends to its shareholders.
During the virtual annual general meeting, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who also serves as CIAL’s Chairman, highlighted the company’s commitment to growth by announcing ongoing development projects valued at ₹1,400 crore. He proudly noted that the 2024–25 financial year represents CIAL’s most profitable period to date.
Mr. Vijayan emphasized CIAL’s multifaceted success, stating, “The past year saw CIAL achieve not only remarkable financial expansion but also significant advancements in operational efficiency and customer satisfaction rankings. For the third year in a row, Kochi Airport welcomed over 10 million passengers and managed an impressive 76,068 flight services during this period.”
To fully leverage the dynamic shifts in India’s aviation sector, CIAL is actively pursuing several high-impact projects. The expansion of the international terminal is advancing swiftly, with the associated apron construction already 50% complete. Additionally, key facilities such as an import cargo terminal, an advanced animal quarantine system, the luxurious 0484 Aero Lounge, and the new Kochi Airport Taj Hotel were successfully brought into operation. The Chief Minister also noted that a comprehensive initiative to fully digitize the airport’s entire operational framework is currently in progress.
Further boosting its non-aviation revenue streams, the development of a new commercial zone and a unique golf tourism project are rapidly moving forward. Kochi Airport has also garnered international recognition for its pioneering efforts in solar energy generation, boasting an installed capacity of 50 megawatts from its green energy initiatives. Any surplus energy generated during daylight hours is efficiently fed back into the national grid. Looking ahead, CIAL is launching a pilot project this fiscal year to store solar energy for night-time use. Collaborating with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, a hydrogen generation project is also nearing completion, underscoring CIAL’s commitment to sustainable practices.
The significant meeting was attended by notable dignitaries including Industries Minister P. Rajeeve, Chief Secretary A. Jayathilak, other esteemed directors, Managing Director S. Suhas, and Company Secretary Saji K. George.
