The Wisdom Islamic Youth Organisation has strongly condemned All India Jamiyyathul Ulama general secretary Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliar and his Sunni faction, alleging they are ‘discrediting the Muslim community’ through extravagant assertions regarding a sacred relic attributed to Prophet Muhammad.
The controversy stems from Mr. Aboobacker Musliar’s recent statement claiming that a strand of Prophet Mohammed’s hair in his possession had miraculously elongated by several millimeters.
In response, the Wisdom Islamic Youth Organisation’s State council passed a resolution, emphatically titled ‘No Forgiveness for Clergy Over Fake Hair.’ This resolution directly accuses Mr. Aboobacker Musliar of commercially exploiting the revered relic for personal financial gain.
The organization’s statement highlighted their disbelief: “Such claims are unheard of in the Prophet Muhammad’s homeland. This is purely financial exploitation. To make such an assertion in an era brimming with verification tools is nothing short of insulting the intelligence of the people of Kerala.”
The Wisdom group urged Muslim youth to actively resist these attempts to commercialize their faith and suppress critical thinking within the community.
They further cautioned the community to remain vigilant against clerical endeavors that might divert them from authentic religious teachings and fundamental truths.
The crucial discussion was initiated by Wisdom Islamic Organisation State secretary Haris Bin Salim, with Wisdom Youth State general secretary T.K. Nishad Salafi presiding over the proceedings.
Notable Wisdom leaders, including Faisal Moulavi, K. Thajudheen Swalahi, P.P. Naseef, Moosa Swalahi, and Abdurahoof Alhikami, also addressed the gathering.
