Kerala’s ambitious ‘Vijnana Keralam’ initiative, spearheaded by Kudumbashree, has been a resounding success, creating a remarkable 141,323 job opportunities across the state. Minister for Local Self-Governments, M.B. Rajesh, announced that out of these, 55,913 positions have been successfully filled by women, marking a significant step towards women’s economic empowerment.
Furthering its commitment to job creation, Kudumbashree is embarking on an exciting new partnership with Reliance Jio. This collaboration aims to generate an additional 10,000 employment opportunities specifically for women in Kerala. The initial phase of this project will focus on roles such as digital product marketing and customer care support, with Reliance committed to providing comprehensive training to all selected candidates.
A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) solidifying this partnership was recently signed by Kudumbashree Executive Director H. Dineshan and Hemanth Amborkar, Kerala Business Head for Reliance Projects and Property Management Services Limited, in the presence of Minister Rajesh. The list of eligible women candidates will be shared with Reliance through the respective Kudumbashree Community Development Societies, ensuring a streamlined recruitment process. Minister Rajesh also highlighted that beyond this new collaboration, many Kudumbashree members have already secured well-paying jobs in various private sector institutions.
In a related development, the Vijnana Keralam-Kudumbashree Job Campaign is extending its focus to the vital field of palliative care. A new project has been launched to identify and make available job opportunities for Kudumbashree members in this sector. The vision is to establish a statewide network of trained social care workers, providing professional home-based palliative care services to families in need within every local body. The initiative aims to train an impressive 50,000 individuals, ensuring accessible and affordable palliative care across Kerala.
