Kerala’s highly anticipated SSLC examinations are set to take place from March 5 to March 30, while the Plus Two (Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary) examinations will run from March 6 to March 28. This crucial schedule was officially announced by General Education Minister V. Sivankutty, providing much-needed clarity for students and educators.
During a press conference held on Wednesday in Thiruvananthapuram, Minister Sivankutty highlighted the significant scale of these exams, confirming that approximately 4.25 lakh students are expected to sit for the SSLC examinations.
Important Dates for SSLC Candidates:
- The IT model examinations are scheduled from January 12 to January 22.
- The main SSLC IT examinations will follow, from February 2 to February 13.
- SSLC model examinations will be conducted between February 16 and February 20.
- All SSLC examinations will commence promptly at 9:30 a.m.
- Preparations are underway for approximately 3,000 examination centers, including seven located in the Gulf region and nine in Lakshadweep, to accommodate the vast number of students.
- Students can submit their applications and examination fees without penalty from November 12 to November 19. A late fee option will be available from November 21 to November 26.
SSLC Results and Revaluation:
- The revaluation process for SSLC answer scripts is slated for April 7 to April 25.
- Students can anticipate their SSLC results around May 8.
Higher Secondary (Plus One & Plus Two) and VHSE Exam Schedule:
- The Plus One higher secondary examinations are scheduled from March 5 to March 27.
- Plus One exams will commence at 1:30 p.m.
- Plus Two exams will begin at 9:30 a.m.
- On Fridays, exams for both Plus One and Plus Two will run from 9:15 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
- A total of 125 students enrolled in Additional Mathematics via SCOLE-Kerala will take their Plus One exams on March 27, across morning and afternoon sessions.
- Practical examinations for Plus Two students will kick off on January 22.
- Model examinations for both Plus One and Plus Two students are set for February 16 to February 26.
- The deadline for submitting exam fees without a late fine is November 7.
A staggering nine lakh students are projected to sit for the Plus One and Plus Two examinations this year. These will be conducted across approximately 2,000 centers, including those in the Gulf region and Lakshadweep.
VHSE Specifics:
- In the Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) stream, 26,822 students are registered for Plus One exams in the regular category, with 26,826 appearing for Plus Two examinations.
- Skill evaluations for Plus Two students will conclude in January, while Plus One skill evaluations will start in the final week of the same month, as announced by the Minister.
Results and General Exams:
- Revaluation of answer scripts for higher secondary will commence on April 6, with results anticipated by May 22.
- The official examination notification, complete with detailed timetables, is expected to be released on Thursday.
- Furthermore, examinations for students in classes I to IX will be held concurrently with the SSLC and higher secondary examinations.
- For high school (HS)-attached lower primary (LP) sections, exams will be held from March 12 to March 26.
- HS-attached upper primary sections will have their exams from March 6 to March 27.
- Standalone LP and UP schools will administer special question papers, with examinations beginning from March 18.
