Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan officially inaugurated the innovative ‘Citizen Connect Centre’ on Monday. This state-of-the-art facility is set to become the core of the government’s extensive public engagement campaign, aptly named ‘Mukhyamatri Ennodoppam,’ which translates to ‘CM With Me.’
Located in Vellayambalam, the new centre is designed to be a vital communication bridge, enabling citizens to provide feedback, seek redressal for grievances, and engage in broader public dialogue. The public can effortlessly submit their thoughts, suggestions, and complaints using the dedicated toll-free number, 1800-425-6789.
During the launch event, Chief Minister Vijayan emphasized the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government’s unwavering commitment to public accountability over the past decade. He underscored the administration’s steadfast dedication to transparent and citizen-focused governance.
Mr. Vijayan further elaborated on the government’s initiatives to ensure responsiveness, pointing to annual progress reports, the popular Nava Kerala Sadas outreach events, and the recently introduced ‘Vikasana Sadas’ program at the local body level as key examples of their direct engagement with the populace.
The Chief Minister detailed the streamlined process: all complaints submitted through ‘CM With Me’ will be diligently recorded, and complainants can expect a callback within 48 hours. During this call, they will be informed about the proposed actions and any necessary follow-up steps.
To ensure effective implementation, a specialized team has been established for the outreach program. While many issues will be efficiently handled by dedicated officials, matters requiring higher-level attention will be directly addressed by the respective Ministers.
The ‘Citizen Connect Centre’ aims to achieve several crucial objectives: providing easy access to information about essential government schemes, welfare programs, and the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund; systematically collecting and analyzing public feedback to enhance the efficiency and timeliness of government projects; gathering valuable public suggestions across critical sectors like housing, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability; guaranteeing prompt responses to public grievances; and ultimately fostering transparency and active public participation in governance through a robust outreach mechanism.
This significant project is being spearheaded by the Information and Public Relations department, with comprehensive technical and infrastructural backing from the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB).
Revenue Minister K. Rajan gracefully presided over the inaugural ceremony.
