The Kerala Women’s Commission is embarking on a significant three-day face-to-face program designed to champion women’s empowerment across all facets of society. This initiative aims to highlight existing government programs for women and children while actively soliciting fresh ideas and feedback from the community.
Commission Chairperson P. Satheedevi emphasized that the program will serve as a vital platform for dialogue. The insights gathered will directly inform recommendations submitted to the government, helping to address challenges faced by women in diverse sectors.
The first day will bring together representatives from voluntary organizations and women facilitators for a session titled ‘Women Empowerment in the Future.’ Minister for Women and Child Development, Veena George, is slated to inaugurate this crucial discussion, with Public Prosecutor T. Ginakumari presenting the key topic.
On the second day, Minister for Local Self-Governments M.B. Rajesh will open a session focused on ‘Novel Kudumbashree enterprises – possibilities, review.’ This segment will delve into the exciting new employment opportunities emerging from Kudumbashree auxiliary groups, which are dedicated to enhancing the social, cultural, and economic well-being of young women.
The final day of the program will explore ‘Women empowerment through responsible tourism.’ Minister for Tourism P.A. Mohamed Riyas will lead discussions on unlocking new potential within the responsible tourism sector. Rupesh Kumar, CEO of the Kerala Responsible Tourism Mission Society, will present on this topic, with attendees including tourism clubs, women entrepreneurs in the responsible tourism sector, and various student groups.
District Panchayat President D. Suresh Kumar will grace the event as the chief guest, underscoring the collaborative spirit of this significant empowerment drive.
