Kerala is gearing up for a significant stride towards women’s safety with the state-level launch of its new Women’s Safety Division. Operating under the umbrella of the Kerala police’s Women’s Cell, this pivotal initiative will officially commence on November 4th at the Majestic auditorium in Kozhikode.
State Police Chief Ravada Chandrasekhar will lead the launch, introducing this ambitious program designed to actively prevent crimes against women and ensure that survivors receive prompt and effective justice. The event will also feature an important discussion session focused on ‘Domestic violence and women,’ highlighting the division’s holistic approach to these critical issues.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Social Policing Division) Ajitha Begum is set to preside over the inaugural proceedings. Esteemed speakers will include Additional Director General of Police S. Sreejith, who will deliver the keynote address, alongside Inspector General of Police (North Zone) Rajpal Meena, District Police Chief T. Narayanan, Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun K. Pavithran, and Additional Superintendent of Police P. Biju Raj, all contributing to this landmark event.
