Get ready for a new era of tourism in Parassinikadavu! Transport Minister K.B. Ganesh Kumar has proudly announced the imminent arrival of a modern, air-conditioned tourist boat, set to grace the waters by March. This impressive vessel, boasting a capacity for 120 passengers, promises a comfortable and scenic journey for visitors.
The announcement came during the inauguration of several government initiatives designed to uplift Parassinikadavu, a significant pilgrimage site in Kerala. During the event, two innovative new boats were unveiled: the sleek Catamaran Boat, which will ferry passengers between Parassinikkadavu and Valapattanam, and the spacious S25 Upper Deck Boat, designed for picturesque routes connecting Parassinikkadavu, Valapattanam, Azhikkal, and Mattul.
Adding to the aquatic excitement, the Minister also revealed plans to introduce captivating boat services in Kavvayi Kayal, drawing inspiration from the popular Kuttanad Safari cruise. Beyond the waterways, major transformations are underway for the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), with ambitious schemes to elevate key bus stations statewide to contemporary ‘airport-standard’ facilities.
The event also marked the official opening of vital development projects in Parassinikadavu. These include a substantial expansion of the boat terminal, a project valued at ₹3.5 crore, a crucial river protection initiative costing ₹1 crore, and an extensive ₹2.8 crore beautification drive focused on the areas surrounding the revered Parassinikadavu temple.
MLA M.V. Govindan joined the celebratory function virtually, presiding over the proceedings online.
The inauguration was attended by a host of dignitaries, including MLAs K.V. Sumesh and M. Vijin, Anthoor Municipality Chairman P. Mukundan, alongside various political leaders and dedicated officials from the Tourism and Water Transport departments, as well as representatives from local social organizations, all demonstrating a shared vision for the region’s bright future.
