Kerala’s Industries department has officially launched an ambitious new framework for high-tech manufacturing, a cornerstone of the state’s latest industrial policy. This initiative aims to elevate Kerala into a prominent global hub for cutting-edge research and development, sophisticated design and engineering, rigorous testing, certification, and advanced manufacturing.
In a recent social media announcement, Industries Minister P. Rajeeve affirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to these endeavors. He stated that all possible support would be extended to projects aligning with this new framework, complementing the extensive aid already outlined in the broader industrial policy.
Minister Rajeeve highlighted the state’s intensified efforts to draw in more investors, especially as global economic shifts, including increased tariffs and new controls from the U.S. government, create worldwide challenges. He emphasized Kerala’s exceptional talent pool, making it an ideal location for Global Capability Centers (GCCs), Global Technology Centers (GTCs), and specialized fields like design, R&D, and advanced digital marketing.
Reinforcing this potential, the Minister cited a recent LinkedIn report indicating that approximately 40,000 professionals globally have either connected with Kerala-based companies or initiated new ventures within the state, showcasing its growing appeal.
He articulated a vision to transform current global economic uncertainties, particularly those originating from the U.S., into a golden opportunity. This would involve vigorously developing high-tech manufacturing sectors that are crucial drivers for a thriving knowledge economy.
Furthermore, Kerala is proactively building an Industry 4.0 ecosystem, firmly anchored in the principles of sustainability and balanced development. This comprehensive approach is rooted in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) sustainability principles, forming the bedrock for a truly responsible industrial and investment model.
