The Kerala government is preparing to host a magnificent event, a grand celebration dedicated to honoring the legendary actor Mohanlal. This special occasion recognizes his recent achievement of receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India’s most esteemed cinematic honor.
Dubbed ‘Malayalam Vaanolam, Lal Salam’ (Malayalam to the Sky, Long Live Lal), the grand ceremony is scheduled for October 4 at 5 p.m. at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will personally felicitate the actor, with many luminaries from across the Indian film fraternity expected to grace the event. This was announced by Kerala Minister for Cultural Affairs, Saji Cherian, during a press conference in the capital.

Following the official felicitation, attendees will be treated to a captivating musical spectacle titled ‘Aadam Namukku Paadam’ (Let’s Sing, Our Adam). This performance, directed by T.K. Rajeev Kumar, will feature a medley of iconic songs from Mohanlal’s illustrious film career.
The stage will come alive with performances by celebrated singers such as Sujatha Mohan, Shweta Mohan, Sithara, Arya Dayal, Manjari, Jyotsna, Mridula Warrier, Nithya Mammen, Sayanora, Rajalakshmy, Kalpana Raghavendra, Remy, and Disha Prakash, all rendering memorable songs from Mohanlal’s movies. Adding to the star power, a lineup of his esteemed co-actors, including Urvashi, Shobhana, Manju Warrier, Parvathy, Karthika, Meena, Nithya Menon, Lissy, Ranjini, Ramya Krishnan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Shweta Menon, and Malavika Mohanan, will share their insights and anecdotes before each musical segment.
Minister Cherian will preside over the ceremony, with General Education Minister V. Sivankutty and Minister for Food and Civil Supplies G. R. Anil attending as chief guests. The esteemed gathering will also include other state ministers, Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and various other public representatives.

Earlier, Minister Anil unveiled the event’s official logo during the press conference, presenting it to Minister Sivankutty.
Minister Cherian elaborated on the government’s vision for this felicitation, describing it as a sincere expression of the state’s deep gratitude to Mohanlal. He emphasized the actor’s pivotal role in the artistic and commercial evolution of Malayalam cinema. With a career spanning five decades, Mohanlal has cemented his position as one of India’s foremost actors, renowned for bringing countless unforgettable characters to life.
Given the expected large public turnout, comprehensive security measures and safety protocols will be meticulously implemented to ensure a smooth and secure event for all attendees, he added.
