A shocking incident has led to the arrest of a 52-year-old headmaster in Kasaragod, Kerala. On Monday, authorities apprehended him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl. The distressing event reportedly occurred on Sunday night when he took her to a secluded area near Kumbala.
The suspect, identified as Sudhir, is also a member of the Kerala School Teachers Association (KSTA). He was swiftly taken into custody by the Kumbala police after the young girl bravely confided in her mother about the incident.
Police investigations reveal that Sudhir had attended a housewarming ceremony in the vicinity. Around 9 p.m., he allegedly convinced his former student to accompany him to a nearby isolated spot, fabricating a story about assisting an unwell individual from the gathering.
When the child failed to return for an extended period, her anxious parents initiated a search. Upon her eventual return, the girl recounted her traumatic experience to her mother, prompting an immediate complaint to law enforcement.
Following thorough questioning and a medical examination, Sudhir was formally arrested on Monday afternoon.
The young victim also underwent a crucial medical check-up as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have confirmed that the accused will be presented before the court later today to face the charges against him.
