Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan recently convened a high-level meeting to finalize arrangements for an exciting international friendly football match. The Argentine national team, featuring global icon Lionel Messi, is expected to play at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium in Kochi, Ernakulam, this November.
During the meeting, officials developed a detailed plan to upgrade the stadium to meet top international standards. Discussions also covered crucial aspects such as spectator parking, robust security protocols, efficient traffic flow, effective crowd control, comprehensive electrical safety checks, adequate drinking water provisions, and systematic waste disposal.
A senior civil servant has been appointed to oversee and coordinate efforts across various government departments involved in the event.
Furthermore, a high-level panel, headed by the Chief Secretary, will ensure strict adherence to the event’s master plan. The District Collector of Ernakulam will provide real-time supervision of all preparations and regularly update the Chief Secretary’s committee.
Key officials present at this significant meeting included Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman, Minister for Local Self-Governments M. B. Rajesh, Chief Secretary A. Jayathilak, and State Police Chief Ravada Chandrasekhar.
