Good news for travelers on the Katra-Srinagar route! Starting October 29, the Northern Railways will be adding a temporary stop at Reasi station for the Vande Bharat Express. This trial run is in response to requests from locals who felt the train, which currently only stops once at Banihal between Katra and Srinagar, should have more stops for greater convenience.
An official order states that the Vande Bharat Express will now make a two-minute stop at Reasi in both directions. To gauge the impact of this new halt, the commercial department will closely monitor ticket sales at the stations for the next five months and submit a report for review. The stoppage will remain in place unless further instructions are issued.
This development follows the successful launch of the Vande Bharat train service on June 6, which marked the first direct rail connection between the Kashmir valley and the Jammu region. The introduction of this Vande Bharat train has significantly enhanced the transportation system in the region, receiving a very positive response from passengers.
