Karnataka’s Health Minister, Dinesh Gundu Rao, has reaffirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services to the residents of Raichur district. This commitment was highlighted during the inauguration of a brand-new mother and child hospital in Sindhanur, a significant step towards improving public health infrastructure.
Addressing the public at the event held on Saturday, Minister Rao emphasized that the initial budget for the hospital was ₹12 crore. Furthering the healthcare expansion, Minister Rao announced the sanctioning of eight new primary health centers across the district. Additionally, five existing centers are slated for upgrading to full-fledged community health centers, thereby broadening access to essential medical care.
Highlighting future developments, the Minister also shared plans for a crucial critical care center (CCC) in Lingsugur, budgeted at ₹21 crore. Moreover, the existing taluk hospital in Sindhanur is set to undergo a transformative upgrade, evolving into a comprehensive district hospital equipped with a full spectrum of healthcare facilities.
Minister Rao was joined by Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil for the inauguration ceremony. Together, they also unveiled the new taluk panchayat office, a project completed at a cost of ₹1.5 crore, and officially laid the foundation stones for several other upcoming construction projects in the area.
