The Karnataka government has recently unveiled an updated protocol for inviting prominent figures, including the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, various Ministers, Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Members of Legislative Council (MLCs), and other key dignitaries, to official functions held across the state, district, and taluk levels.
This revised notification on protocols was issued with the primary objective of ensuring the seamless execution of public events and effectively managing the presence of dignitaries and guests on the main stage, thereby avoiding overcrowding and maintaining decorum.
For instance, the new guidelines specify that for functions organized at the state or district level, invitations should primarily extend to the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, the respective Minister of the concerned department, and the local MLA.
In the case of programmes that receive central sponsorship, the protocol advises inviting a broader range of officials, including the Governor, a relevant Union Minister, the Chief Minister, the Deputy Chief Minister, and the local Member of Parliament (MP).
