The Forest Department has issued a strong advisory, urging the public to exercise caution regarding a concerning trend: AI-generated videos showing Mysuru Dasara elephants behaving erratically. Authorities are working to dispel any unwarranted fears stemming from these deceptive clips.
Deputy Conservator of Forests, Prabhugoud, who oversees the majestic Dasara elephants, confirmed in an official statement that his department has indeed detected deliberate attempts to produce these misleading videos using advanced AI technology. The goal, it appears, is to confuse and alarm citizens.
He emphasized that the annual Dasara festival is a cherished tradition and a source of immense pride for Mysuru. Spreading such fabricated content on social media during this significant event not only causes unwarranted confusion but also generates needless panic among the populace.
To reassure everyone, Mr. Prabhugoud affirmed that every elephant participating in the revered Naada Habba Dasara festival is highly experienced and well-trained. He highlighted that the Forest Department, in close coordination with the Police Department and District Administration, has implemented comprehensive precautionary measures to guarantee the utmost public safety throughout the celebrations.
Finally, he called upon all members of society, including media organizations, to lend their full support and cooperation to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the festival.
