The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has unequivocally dismissed the BJP’s recent ‘fact-finding’ report concerning the Maddur stone pelting incident, with spokesperson H.A. Venkatesh branding it as “utterly ridiculous.”
Venkatesh highlighted that the police had acted swiftly to arrest all individuals implicated in the incident. He expressed strong disapproval of the BJP’s report, which he claimed made unwarranted accusations about police efficiency and needlessly involved Home Minister G. Parameshwara in the controversy.
In his official statement, Venkatesh also pointed to the allegedly inflammatory speeches delivered by several BJP leaders, noting that First Information Reports (FIRs) had been lodged against them for these provocative addresses.
He contended that the elements responsible for disturbing public order were clearly identifiable, citing the slogans chanted during the protest and the immediate aftermath of the incident. Venkatesh specifically accused prominent BJP figures, including R. Ashok, C.T. Ravi, Pratap Simha, and Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, of actively inciting communal disharmony through their provocative rhetoric.
