The Karnataka State government has officially sanctioned an initial allocation of ₹55.33 crore to kickstart the first phase of an ambitious project. The goal is to revitalize the renowned Roerich and Devikarani Estate, situated along Kanakapura Road on the periphery of Bengaluru, transforming it into a dynamic hub for tourism and culture.
This significant development follows decades of public discourse and anticipation surrounding the estate’s future. Its long-awaited transformation is now set to begin.
Notably, the central government has designated this estate for development under its ‘Special Assistance to State Capital Investment – Development of Iconic Tourist Destination’ initiative. The comprehensive project carries an estimated total cost of ₹99.17 crore, with this first phase marking a crucial step forward in its realization.
