The Airports Authority of India (AAI) recently published its Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) for Round-I 2025, showing varying performances among the four AAI-managed airports in Karnataka. Compared to Round-II 2024, two airports in the state have seen a positive shift in their rankings, while two others have unfortunately dropped.
Specifically, the airports of Belagavi, Hubballi, Mysuru, and Kalaburagi were included in this comprehensive survey. Belagavi and Hubballi have shown commendable improvement in their standings. In the latest survey, Belagavi and Hubballi airports are now ranked seventh and eighth respectively, a significant rise from their previous tenth-place positions.
Conversely, Mysuru and Kalaburagi airports have experienced a downturn. Mysuru, which previously held the 11th spot, has fallen to 16th place. Similarly, Kalaburagi airport, formerly ranked 12th, also now shares the 16th position.
The survey encompassed a total of 62 airports across India. Udaipur airport claimed the top position, with Khajuraho and Bhopal airports following close behind.
The AAI’s Customer Satisfaction Index evaluates airports based on 33 diverse parameters. These include critical aspects such as ground transportation to and from the airport, parking availability, baggage cart access, efficiency and courtesy of check-in staff, security inspection thoroughness, value for money at dining facilities, comfort of waiting areas, and internet/Wi-Fi access. Additionally, five specific questions related to hygiene standards were incorporated into the assessment.
In terms of scores, Belagavi airport’s customer satisfaction score increased from 4.91 in the previous survey to 4.94 in the latest round. Hubballi airport also saw a slight rise, moving from 4.91 to 4.93. However, Mysuru airport’s score decreased from 4.90 to 4.73, and Kalaburagi airport’s score dipped from 4.89 to 4.73, reflecting their slide in the overall rankings.
