On October 15th, Priya Sachdev Kapur, the widow of the late industrialist Sunjay Kapur, shared a poignant tribute to her husband on his birth anniversary. The tribute included a video montage featuring Sunjay’s children, Samaira and Kiaan, from his previous marriage to actress Karisma Kapoor. This thoughtful gesture came at a sensitive time, as the families are currently involved in a legal dispute concerning Sunjay Kapur’s will, which allegedly leaves his estate to Priya Sachdev Kapur. Karisma’s children had reportedly informed the Delhi High Court that the will was forged.
In solidarity, Karisma Kapoor also posted a picture of a birthday cake with ‘Happy Birthday Dad’ written on it. Her sister, Kareena Kapoor Khan, reshown her support by reposting the image on her social media, adding a touching caption for Samaira and Kiaan: “My samu and kiu dad is protecting you always and forever.” This demonstrates the strong bond between the sisters, offering comfort to the children during this challenging period.
Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur were married in 2003 and welcomed daughter Samaira in 2005, followed by son Kiaan in 2011. Their divorce was finalized in 2016, after which Karisma filed a domestic violence case against Sunjay. Sunjay Kapur passed away in June of this year following an anaphylactic shock after being stung by a bee in his mouth during a polo match. He is survived by his wife Priya and their son Azarius.
