The reel, created by Instagram user @prithvi__zaveri, humorously dramatized the supposed “heartbreak” of a Virat Kohli fan following the cricketer’s statement. In an interview, Virat had mentioned Anushka’s support during his form slump, which inspired the reel. The fan, in a comical portrayal, acted out extreme reactions like crying hysterically and even pretending to jump out of a window, while also chopping onions to hide tears.
The reel was set to Imran Khan’s song “Bewafa.” What particularly sparked online buzz was Anushka’s acknowledgment of the reel through a ‘like.’ Fans quickly noticed and flooded the comments section with amused reactions, with one user noting, “Liked by anushka bhabhi.” Another commented, “Anushka Sharma jiii liked.”
A social media user shared a screenshot of Anushka’s like on X (formerly Twitter), captioning it, “SHE’S A TRULY HILARIOUS WOMAN LMAOOO.” Other reactions included, “No wonder madam bagged Kohli sahab, humour is always charming,” and “She’s an insanely funny woman.”

The incident harks back to last year when Virat Kohli, after scoring his highly anticipated 81st international century, emotionally dedicated it to his wife, Anushka Sharma. He expressed his gratitude for her support and understanding during a challenging period in his career. This landmark century came during the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia at Perth’s Optus Stadium in November of the previous year.
In a post-match conversation with Adam Gilchrist, Virat had shared, “Anushka has been right by my side through thick and thin. She knows everything that goes on behind the scene, what goes on in the head when you don’t play as well, you make a few mistakes after getting yourself in. I just wanted to contribute to the team’s cause, I do not want to hang around just for the sake of it, I take pride in performing for the country.
