Regional Commissioner Zaheera Naseem personally visited the flood-stricken villages of Farhatabad and Sardagi in Kalaburagi taluk on Sunday. Her purpose was to assess the ground reality after the Bhima River’s waters had significantly risen, causing widespread flooding.
During her tour, she was briefed by the local Tahsildar regarding the strategies for relocating residents, the operational status of various relief centers, and other critical arrangements put in place to manage the crisis.
Emphasizing the urgency of the situation, the Regional Commissioner firmly instructed all officials to guarantee the safety of every individual at all times and to take every possible measure to prevent any fatalities.
Her visit also included an inspection of a relief center in Koodi, where she mandated that all displaced residents receive nourishing food and access to comprehensive healthcare services.
She underscored the importance of diligent and ongoing health monitoring, particularly for children, stating, ‘Continuous health monitoring is absolutely crucial, with a special focus on our children. All necessary amenities must be made readily available to everyone impacted by these floods.’
