Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath officially took over as the new Superintendent of Police for YSR Kadapa district on Monday, marking a new chapter for law enforcement in the region.
Addressing the media, the 2019 batch IPS officer made his intentions clear: a zero-tolerance policy against anti-social elements. He specifically highlighted plans to aggressively crack down on illegal activities such as gambling, cricket betting, and drug peddling. Vishwanath emphasized his commitment to maintaining peace and order, issuing a stern warning of strict action against anyone found disturbing the district’s tranquility.
When questioned about the recent tragic murder of a young girl in the popular tourist destination of Gandikota, Mr. Vishwanath assured the public that he would delve into the details and ensure the case is swiftly resolved. He also called upon citizens to actively cooperate with the police to help transform Kadapa into a truly peaceful district.
Prior to officially assuming his duties, SP Vishwanath was honored with a guard of honor from the armed reserve police. In a subsequent meeting with senior police officials, he stressed the critical importance of prioritizing and promptly addressing public complaints. He also warned that any lapse in duty would be met with severe consequences, reinforcing an open-door policy by stating that any officer, from a home guard to an Additional Superintendent, could approach him with concerns.
