KADAPA: Exciting news for Kadapa! The district’s efforts to create more jobs are getting a major boost with the proposed establishment of its very first Information Technology (IT) Park. This significant development was announced by Kadapa MLA and Government Whip, Reddeppagari Madhavi Reddy.
Ms. Madhavi has formally requested funding from the Department of IT, Electronics and Communications for this groundbreaking IT Park. She highlighted that the current TDP-led NDA government is dedicated to ensuring balanced development across all regions, including Rayalaseema. This commitment is evident despite the recent decision to locate the Google Data Centre in Visakhapatnam, underscoring a strategy to decentralize growth and ensure a fair spread of skilled job opportunities.
Kadapa enjoys a strategic location, being close to Bengaluru. Currently, many talented young professionals from the district find employment in Karnataka’s capital. However, with the new IT Park, the government aims to encourage these skilled individuals to stay and contribute to their home district, thereby curbing talent migration.
The local administration has already pinpointed a suitable 10-acre plot for the IT Park, conveniently located near the Rajiv Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) super specialty hospital. This land is expected to be officially transferred to the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) very soon.
Once the necessary funds are allocated and the infrastructure is in place, Kadapa will be ready to welcome IT companies. “We are determined to foster a thriving environment that promotes IT and innovation right here in Kadapa,” Ms. Reddy shared.
Furthermore, Ms. Reddy mentioned the government’s ambitious initiative to establish Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Parks in every constituency. The district administration is actively working on developing the required infrastructure for these parks.
For instance, in Jammalamadugu Constituency, industrial facilities are being developed on 20 acres out of a total of 98 acres allocated at T. Sunkesula, near Yerraguntla town. Similarly, 20 acres have been designated for an MSME Park in Kopparthi, within Kamalapuram Constituency.
Additionally, an industrial estate covering 25 acres is being developed in the Gullamadugu area of Pulivendula Constituency, while a larger 60-acre park is being prepared in Gopavaram, Badvel. A 41-acre site has also been earmarked for an MSME Park in Nandyalampeta village, Mydukur, she concluded.
