Tamil Nadu’s Municipal Administration Minister, K.N. Nehru, firmly rejected the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) accusations of irregularities in the Municipal Administration and Water Supply (MAWS) Department appointments. On Friday, October 31, 2025, Nehru asserted that he and his party are committed to demonstrating their innocence throughout the ongoing inquiry.
During a press briefing held after a DMK booth-level consultation meeting in Tiruchi North and Central districts, Mr. Nehru stated, “We will prove that we are innocent and come clean.”
He elaborated on the ED’s actions, noting that the agency had informed the Tamil Nadu police about documents recovered during their searches, urging the police to review these materials. “The State police will thoroughly examine these documents and ascertain if any irregularities indeed occurred. I maintain that I have done nothing wrong,” Nehru clarified.
Nehru Responds to EPS Criticism
The Minister also took the opportunity to critique AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, observing that members of Palaniswami’s alliance were “leaving one after the other.” Nehru dismissed Mr. Palaniswami’s earlier comments, which had labeled a recent meeting between K.A. Sengottaiyan, O. Panneerselvam, and T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Thursday, October 30, as the formation of “the DMK’s B Team.”
