A special court in Chittoor has delivered a strong message against child abuse, sentencing 23-year-old P. Prasad to 20 years in prison for the sexual assault of a minor girl. The disturbing incident occurred on March 3, 2021. Prasad, a resident of Basinikonda village in the Madanapalle division of Annamayya district, lured the young girl with the false promise of providing her with food before abducting and assaulting her. Swift action followed a complaint from the victim’s mother, prompting the Madanapalle Taluk police to register a case under the rigorous Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Throughout the extensive trial, Judge M. Shankar Rao meticulously reviewed all presented evidence. Ultimately, the court found Prasad guilty of the heinous crime.
