JD(U) Unveils Complete List of 101 Candidates for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025

The Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) recently released its full lineup of 101 candidates for the upcoming 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election. This announcement aligns with the party’s allotted 101 seats under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) seat-sharing agreement.

The party initially issued a list of 57 candidates on October 15, which included both sitting ministers and several new faces. A subsequent list, comprising an additional 44 candidates, was released on October 16, thereby completing the JD(U)’s full candidate roster for the polls.

The Election Commission of India announced on October 6, 2025, that the Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases. The first phase will see 121 constituencies go to polls on November 6, followed by 122 constituencies in the second phase on November 11. Vote counting is scheduled for November 14.

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar emphasized strict directives for a zero-tolerance approach to violence, ensuring no threats to voters or candidates. He stated that over 7.4 crore people are eligible to vote in the upcoming elections, a figure that includes 14 lakh first-time voters. The CEC reiterated the commitment to conducting the Bihar elections in a transparent and peaceful manner.
